Changing reality into the imaginary

Art, creativity and humor are central in my life. At 21 years old I started my career at the Royal Art Academy in The Hague and majored in Textiles and Fashion. I enjoyed texture, the dimensionality and creational diversity. After graduating I had the unique opportunity to work as a freelancer for the Haagse Comedie, the Opera Forum and the Ro Theatre. I made hats for many theatre shows until 1994. On my shelves you’d still find the different wooden hatblocks. Ever since, I also kept a distinct curiosity for drawing, brushes and the white canvas and always wondered what if…

 Today, most people know me as a painter and three-dimensional artist. Over the summer of 2015 I graduated with special distinction in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk, Belgium. The volume of my work has been described as both big and tender, resounding a profound and humoristic universe.
